Our goals

  • Spread interest in robotics to young minds

  • Teach kids behind-the-scenes of robotics and spark their creativity

  • Make these services easily accessible

Our Story

Kids Explore Robotics was founded by an experienced Engineer (dad) and a high school student (son, now an engineering student). Son had an interest in robotics from early age when he was in the elementary school. When he got to high school, he realized that how much he loved robotics and the potential of robotics. He wanted to teach robotics to spread interest to young minds.

However, we couldn’t find an existing robotics kit that we truly felt taught the entire creative process of robotics. Most products were one-time-use, and lacked flexibility. The aspect of coding the robot to perform different actions was rarely included, and the inner workings of the motors and micro-controller were covered up.

We believed we could have a more distinct, thorough, and immersive take on robotics, so we started designing. We sought to maximize the educational value, so we wanted a relatively open-concept design to make it easy for kids to learn.

After a series of prototypes, we introduced our first robot - Robby the Drummer that can play really cool drum beats. Kids can easily modify the code to make the robot play different drum beats as they use their imagination and creativity. Since then we have introduced several other robots, all made out of wooden blocks and 3D printed parts, to maximize the learning experience that is fun, engaging, rewarding and educational.

Our goal is simply to spread interest in robotics and provide the opportunity to kids from all walks of life.

  • Robotics is fun, engaging, rewarding, and educational for all kids.

  • Your kid(s) get to be an engineer (see the smiles on their face when they come home and tell you all about it – PRICELESS!).

  • Working on simple design of robots gets their creative juices flowing.

  • Robotics helps build self-confidence as kids see instant results.

  • Robotics improves critical thinking and teaches problem solving skills.

  • Robots are here. Could be a great career option.

Why your kids should learn Robotics?

Why work with Kids Explore Robotics?

We are different. Our robots are simple in design but provide a powerful learning experience that is fun, engaging, rewarding and educational. They are designed to get the creative juices flowing, build self-confidence, and let your kids discover the possibilities.

Kids learn behind-the-scenes of robotics and learn to code in very simple ways (even with no prior knowledge). Our teaching method breaks down the learning in small chunks and makes it really easy for any kids to understand, comprehend, and learn. Kids work on individual activities as well as group projects that improve critical thinking, teamwork, and social skills under the guidance of our trained experts.

Aside from learning new skills, KIDS HAVE A LOT OF FUN!!!

Any kids 6 years and older. No prior knowledge of robotics or coding is needed. We have age-appropriate activities and projects for all ages and experience level. If you have a curious one that loves to figure things out or build something – our classes are especially for you.

Who is it for?

Let your kid(s) get to be an engineer !

(They go home with the smiles on their faces – PRICELESS!).

Kids Explore Robotics offers several options to make it easier for you to get your kids involved in robotics.

1. Single 2-hr Class - This is a great way to introduce your kids to robotics. They will learn about basic concepts of robotics and engage in the hands-on activities to learn about the building blocks of creating a robot.

2. Weekly Robotics & Coding Classes (1 hour each week) - Kids come to our learning center once a week for 1-hour in-person learning experience after school – flexible schedule (weekdays and Saturdays). Pay a flat monthly fee and continue for as many months as you want.

3. Summer 2025 Camp - Let the summer be unforgettable! Enroll your kids in our group camps where they will engage in hands-on learning, creative problem-solving and teamwork, all while having an absolute blast.

FAQs

Do I need to purchase anything for the classes?

No, you do not need to purchase anything for the classes. For the in-person classes I will provide the robotic kit for hands-on experience during the classes. For the online classes (via Zoom), I will demonstrate the steps involved in building and programming of the robot.

The Robotic kits must be returned back at the end of the in-person classes as I need the robotics kits to teach classes that follow. Unfortunately, I do not have the means to provide the Robotic Kits where students can keep the robot they build in the classes. However, you may purchase the robotics kit from a third-party before the classes if you would like to keep the robot.

If I am attending online classes (via Zoom), do I need to purchase anything?

No. The purchase of the Robotics Kit is not necessary even for the online classes as I will give demonstration of everything I teach in the class including building of the robot. However, I recommend purchasing a kit if you would like your kid to have hands-on experience of actually building and programming the robot. This will also enhance an overall learning experience and your kid would get a lot more out of the classes.

Where are the in-person classes held?

The in-person classes are held in Greenwood, Indianapolis, and Columbus, IN. Please see the Classes or Summer Camps page for details.

Do you offer Summer Camps?

Yes, we will offer Summer Camps starting Summer 2024. The camps will be held in Greenwood, Indianapolis, and Columbus, IN. Please see the Summer Camps page for details.

Do you offer Online Summer Camps?

Yes, we have plans to offer Online Summer Camps starting Summer 2024. However, the exact weeks/dates will depend upon the interest level from parents and kids.

How often are the classes held?

The frequency of the classes depends upon level of interest from kids and my availability. However, I plan to offer classes every week.

Do you offer video classes where I can work and learn on my own time and at my own pace?

Yes, I have a series of video classes on my YouTube Channel. Video classes are just as effective as live classes for learning. They provide you an added flexibility to learn on your own time and at your own pace.

If I do the video classes, do I need to purchase anything to enhance the learning experience for my kids?

No. The purchase of the Robotics Kit is not necessary even for the video classes as I give demonstration of everything I teach in the class including building of the robot. However, I recommend purchasing a kit if you would like your kid to have hands-on experience of actually building and programming the robot. This will also enhance an overall learning experience and your kid would get a lot more out of the classes.
